Hello, I'm Nicola

I teach reformer Pilates one to one, from a studio at my home in Harrogate.

How I like to teach

I set this studio up because I wanted to teach Pilates the way I think it works best: one person at a time, with somebody watching properly.

In a class you get a plan that has to suit everybody, which means it can't quite suit anybody. One to one, we start from your goals — the hill you want to walk up, the desk that's wrecking your neck, and we build the hour around that. If you turn up stiff and tired, we change it.

I'd rather you did five movements well than twenty badly, and I'll say so. You get corrections all the way through, because that's what you're paying for. And you get the same teacher every week, who remembers what we did last time and what your back was doing in February.

Most people begin with an introductory session at £45 — a full 55 minutes, with time at the start to talk about where you are and where you'd like to get to.

The studio

It's a room at my home in Harrogate, set up for reformer work and nothing else. Quiet, warm, plenty of light, and no queue for the machine.

Sessions are by appointment, 9am to 3pm, and you're the only person in the room. For a lot of my clients that's the point — particularly if they're coming back from an injury, or simply not keen on doing this in front of an audience.

Clients travel in from around Harrogate and across North Yorkshire: Knaresborough, Wetherby, Ripon, Pannal, Spofforth and the villages in between. I'll send you the address and parking details when you book.
